R Bros Rifles

Spent last week at my buddies place, Country Rhodes Outfitters in Kansas. This was kinda an experiment on his part to see if he wanted to offer the early muzzleloader hunts or not. It allowed Sterling, Landon and I to hunt on our own and how we wanted to. It was also the maiden voyage of the R Bros smokeless muzzleloader platform. We all passed up several bucks looking for a couple on the hit list from the trail cam photos. On my last evening it all finally came together and one of the hit list bucks came out right before dark. I was in a ladder stand using my shooting sticks. As he was feeding away from me he passed a doe I had previously ranged at 239 yds. Once he cleared her I sent it on his shoulder and squeezed the trigger. I lost him with the recoil of the rifle but the “smack” sound of the bullet was all the confirmation I needed. A 275gr bullet at 3000 fps makes a hell of a wallop. I dropped out of the stand and made my way over to where he was. Laying about 30 yds away he was laying at the edge of a cedar. Bullet had a 3” exit hole and the internals were liquidfied. Definitely pleased with the platform and can’t wait to try it out again.
