AAUW's Mission: advancing equity for women and girls through advocacy, education and research. AAUW is the oldest women’s organization in the USA.

Our mission is to advance equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, and research. We have general meetings and various interest groups. Our major fundraiser is our annual used book sale. We welcome new members with an associate, bachelor's or higher degree from accredited colleges or universities. All members, even new ones, are encouraged to participate as board members, group chairs, convention attendees, and book sale workers, in order to get the most out of the AAUW experience.
