Registration is Still Open for Somerset County Police Youth Week!

Join us July 13 –17, 2026, for an exciting and interactive week designed to give high school students a behind-the-scenes look at law enforcement. Throughout the week, participants will take part in hands-on activities, demonstrations, and team-building exercises led by local police officers. From learning about safety and teamwork to developing confidence and leadership skills, Police Youth Week offers a fun and meaningful experience for all who attend.

Police Youth Week is proudly sponsored by the Somerset County Association of Chiefs of Police.

🚶‍♀️🚴‍♂️🚗 Bernards Township is proud to launch its month-long Street Smart NJ Pedestrian Safety Campaign! Together with our Police Department, we’re raising awareness about pedestrian, cyclist, and driver safety to help make our roads safer for everyone. Remember: Stop for Pedestrians, Obey Speed Limits, Use Crosswalks, Wait for the Walk Signal, and Keep Heads Up, Phones Down.

This Memorial Day, the Bernards Township Police Department stands with our community in remembering our fallen heroes and honoring the freedoms they fought to protect.

Charter Day 2026 is tomorrow, Saturday May 16! While the events and performances start at 12:00PM and continue through 6:00PM, roadways in the area will be affected as early as 8:00AM. Below is a list of road closures that will be taking place to allow Charter Day to run enjoyably, smoothly and safely!

➡️ S Finley Ave will be closed from Collyer Ln to Oak St.
➡️ If you reside on S Finley Ave, Colonial Dr, Dyckman Pl, Cedar St, Rankin Ave, Forbes St or Lewis St, you will be allowed to drive to and from your home with police direction.
➡️ There will be no parking on the western side of Rankin Ave.
➡️ There will be no parking on Lewis St or Henry St.
➡️ Lewis St will be ONE WAY from S Finley Ave to S Maple Ave.

We will update with any further closures should they be deemed necessary throughout the day tomorrow.

Tomorrow, April 30th at 3:30pm, Sgt. Kevin Little will be retiring from Bernards Twp PD after almost 30 years of service! All are welcome to join to send Sgt. Little off with a big thanks for his accomplished career!
