Back at it after a long break! I forgot how much I enjoy creating someones visions into reality. This one took me back to my African roots.

The cake was a tribute to celebrate the recipients dear friend who recently climbed Mt Kilimanjaro.

My daughter loved taking these cupcakes to her nursery as a thank you gift for the staff on her last day there. Chocolate cupcakes with belgian chocolate buttercream icing. Yum yum!!

Can you guess what the theme of this cake is? One down, another one to make still for next week. Frozen seems to be the most popular cake this summer!

Its been a busy few months and finally I have gotten around to posting one of my recent cakes. This cake was made for a dear friends' little girl Ava's 5th Birthday. Rainbow cakes seem to be really popular this summer. This was the first of 3 rainbow cakes with 2 more due later this month!

This is the castle cake I made for my daughters 4th birthday in the end.. She was over the moon!

Here's an interesting conversation I had with my 3 soon to be 4 year old about her birthday cake for this weekend.
Me: Are you excited about your birthday darling?
DD: yes mummy. I'm really looking forward to it but remember when you asked me what cake I wanted? Well I would really really really love a cinderella Castle cake.
Me: but..but..
DD: pleeeeease mummy? (Angelic face)
(some fast thinking required as I have already made preparations for a royal carriage cake since she was not specific earlier on in the week)
Me: Alright darling... (panic panic)

I could feel a sense of resignation wash over me and the old excitement of creating something at short notice. Ahh the joys of parenting!

This is the wedding cake I delivered to Dodford Manor yesterday. Congratulations Julie and Paul. The Bride chose the red and ivory theme as her bridal outfit was red and her bridesmaids were in ivory. The details on the cakes were specifically hand designed to match the embroidery on the brides' wedding dress.
