If you think SEO is dying, think again.
AI is shaking up search — Google’s AI Overviews & Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity — but that doesn’t mean SEO is dead.
It’s evolving, and smart businesses are leaning in, not backing away.
Here’s why:
AI needs sources: ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google's AI Overviews pull from top-ranking web pages. Rank in Google’s top 10? You have a ~25% chance of appearing in AI-generated answers.
Organic search remains a key driver of visibility: Over 50% of web traffic originates from search engines. AI answers boost brand awareness even without clicks.
Smart content wins twice: Content that ranks well in search is more likely to be cited by AI, making your SEO efforts double down.
🚀 How to thrive in this evolving landscape:
Create content that serves your audience and showcases your personal experience and expertise.
Optimize your technical SEO to ensure your website is well-indexed and lightning-fast.
Improve your web design and invest in conversion rate optimization.
Bottom line: SEO isn’t dead — it’s becoming stronger, smarter, and more integrated with AI.
Need help navigating this new world? Pathfinder SEO helps site owners, web designers, and agencies build future-ready SEO strategies.

A better approach to SEO starts here.
I'm going to show you how to craft an impactful, future proof eCommerce SEO strategy in 2 minutes.
Real quick, I'm Lindsay Halsey, co-founder of Pathfinder SEO. We help eCommerce websites, get found on Google following a guided approach to SEO. In an industry that's ever evolving and noisy, we bring clarity, structure, and support — so you can get found on Google ease.
Here's how we do it.
We start with audience. Your SEO strategy needs to be grounded in connecting with your prospective customers. In this example, let's say we're creating an SEO strategy for an eCommerce brand that sells outdoor gear, like Mountain Hardware. Their target audience includes people with active lifestyles.
With target audience in hand, we're ready to align our SEO strategy with our customer acquisition funnel.
The funnel is simple. We're trying to connect with our audience in three phases. At the top, we're building awareness. Then we move into consideration and conversion.
On an eCommerce website, your blog is likely to align with the awareness phase.
Then pages including collection and product pages will align with consideration.
An finally the homepage and pages like a sale or discount page will align with conversion.
Let's look at this through the lens of keywords.
Here we have phases like "best tents for camping with dogs" or "kilimanjaro packing list" at the top of our funnel. These keywords help us get in front of the right audience and to provide helpful education on our blog that shares our expertise.
We then have phases that align with our product groupings during the consideration phase. These queries map to people with a shopping intent.
At the bottom of the funnel, we have the brand. This may also include the brand plus product names, the brand compared to a competitor, or the brand plus words like sale.
And that's it. In 2 minutes, we've crafted an eCommerce SEO strategy that's grounded in the real world and maps to how the business acquires customers.

3 Things You Don’t Have To Do to Get Found on Google (but most web designers think you do)
1. Become an SEO Expert
❌ You don’t need to master every Google update or become an SEO expert.
✅ You just need a proven process and trusted support.
2. Invest in Expensive Software
❌ SEO success doesn’t start with tools like Ahrefs or Semrush.
✅ It starts with strategy — and free tools like Google Analytics & Search Console.
3. Go It Alone
❌ SEO can feel isolating — but it doesn’t have to be.
✅ With courses, coaching, and community, you can grow with support.

"My number one challenge before signing up for Pathfinder was severe imposter syndrome around SEO. Not knowing if I understood it well enough. Not feeling confident offering it as a service and knowing if I was really going to be able to help clients.
I often questioned did I really know what I am doing. Am I doing this correctly? I also felt like I was leaving a lot of money on the table. How do I learn about this? How do I build up confidence?
That’s why when I found out about Pathfinder, I was like this is exactly what I need. I like to call you guys experts in my back pocket because if I ever struggle with something I can come to a coaching call, open office hours, get my answers and feel like an expert. If you are on the fence about signing up for Pathfinder, just do it."
