RISE Blue had a great job tour at Double A's Pizza! Students learned more about the different jobs and responsibilities in a restaurant setting, and then got to create their own pizzas for lunch.

We followed it up with a fun afternoon enjoying the fresh air, sunshine, and time together at Tower Park!

💙 RISE Blue Group Photo Dump 💙

Our RISE Blue group has been busy learning, exploring, and giving back!

We visited the Peoria Zoo to learn about different job opportunities while meeting some amazing animal friends along the way. Students also attended the Goodwill Future Focused event, where they practiced money management and real-world decision-making skills through the game of Life.

The group spent time volunteering at Midwest Food Bank, helping pack cereal for local food pantries and supporting our community through service learning. To wrap up the day, we headed to Culver’s — one of our wonderful RISE employers and supporters!

So proud of all the hard work, teamwork, and life skills our students continue to build both in the classroom and out in the community! 💙

Yellow group had the opportunity to visit Linden Hill Farms on Monday! 🐄☀️

They enjoyed seeing dairy cows, goats, chickens, farm cats, dogs, geese, and ducks while learning about dairy farming. A huge thank you to the owners, Miriam and Fred, for welcoming us to the farm!

After our visit, we stopped at Carroll’s Smokehouse for lunch and enjoyed eating outside in the sunshine. We couldn't have asked for a better way to start the week!

RISE Yellow has been keeping busy over the last month!

The students got to work practicing job skills in CAP, cooking lunches, cleaning the van, doing laundry, volunteering their time at a local food pantry, and making cards for our card business.

Between the hard work, they also got to do a little bit of thrifting for a special project, spent a few afternoons at the park, and had a job tour at Regulator Coffee Co. to learn more about what it takes to work in the coffee industry!

RISE BLUE had a great time at the Purple Bubble Bar becoming scent mixologists! They created their own lotion, body wash, or bubble bath—choosing scents and mixing up something uniquely theirs.

A fun way to build independence, decision-making, and creativity… and it smelled amazing! 💜🫧

💚 RISE Green 💚

Green Group has been busy building real-world skills in the best ways!

Students kicked things off by playing the game of Life, practicing important decision-making, money management, and everyday problem-solving in a fun, hands-on way. 🎲

They also headed out for grocery shopping, working on budgeting, planning, and navigating the store like pros. To top it all off, they grilled out together, putting those life skills into action while enjoying some well-earned time together! 🌭🔥

💛 RISE Yellow 💛

It’s been another great week for Yellow Group!

Students had the opportunity to tour the General Downing Peoria International Airport, where they explored behind-the-scenes operations and learned about different careers in aviation—such a cool, real-world experience! ✈️

We also welcomed high school juniors from area schools, giving them a look into our RISE program. Yellow Group did an awesome job showcasing their skills and helping others learn what RISE is all about!
