Everyone loves our Paint It @ BALibrary classes with Ivy! These two groups painted colorful, whimsical dragonflies flying through a summer sky. Find more arts and crafts workshops for all ages in our Program Guide and online Events Calendar!
A little rain couldn’t stop the summer smiles at BALibrary today as Jared the Juggler put on two amazing shows! We hope you had a great time. What do 300 mini beach balls look like? Now you know! Come on over this Saturday, May 30, 10 AM to 2 PM, for Summer Kickoff! You might take home a cute souvenir beach ball after signing up for Summer Reading, enjoying cool tunes by Ben Tatar & the Tatar Tots and Johnny Russler & the Beach Bum Band, the hilarious antics of juggler Andy Head, bubbles, airbrush tattoos, crafts, games, ice pops, and time outside in the sunshine and fresh air! We can’t wait to celebrate summer with you. Everyone is welcome, this event is free, no registration or library card required.

A reminder that the Barrington Area Library will be closed on Monday, May 25, 2026, in observance of Memorial Day.
The Village of Barrington Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony begin at 10:30 AM at the Veterans Memorial on Park Avenue.

We want to take a moment to acknowledge the retirement of Nalini Jayaraman, a member of our Customer Service team for almost 23 years. Nalini retired on May 1, 2026. In her time here, she was a wonderful mentor and leader on the Customer Service team. Her warmth, professionalism, and commitment to our customers and staff have made a lasting impact on our Library community, and she will be greatly missed. We wish her the very best as she begins the adventure of retirement! 👏🏻🌸🌟🎉
