Congratulations to Luke & Lilah - Recipients of this year's Palmquist Peirce Scholarship from Bacoa.

As the Social Media Manager for the BHS chapter of Glamour Gals, Lilah helped to combat elder isolation through organizing and attending activities at senior residential communities. There, while interacting with residents and doing activities like painting nails or playing Go Fish, she learned that “community is built through authentic connections” and that her attention is what truly matters.

When he isn’t in the pool, Luke is busy volunteering at Lake Barrington Woods, a senior residential community in Barrington. Among some of his responsibilities, Luke has led chair yoga, balloon fitness, and called bingo. But more importantly, Luke said, “I made friends with the residents.”
