Bowden Red Angus is a family operated seed stock Red Angus operation with a focus on producing sound
Bowden Red Angus is a family operated Red Angus seed stock operation. The first group of Red Angus cows were purchased in 1996 to blend with the larger framed Simmental cows. In 1999, the remaining Simmental cows were liquidated and we began our focus on purebred Red Angus. The foundation of our cows go back to Boot Jack Ranch, Bieber Red Angus, Green Mountain Red Angus and select other breeders.
We have purchased outstanding bulls that have stood at stud with support from Accelerated Genetics. These bulls have included BJR Monu 4X-303, BJR Pay Day 1528, Schuler Flat Iron, GMRA Cody, and GMRA Trilogy. Currently we blend performance with phenotype to produce sound productive cattle which are enjoyable to look at. While Cortney and Wesley were showing cattle, they experienced great success winning at the local, state and national level. Cortney was fortunate to have an amazing heifer in 2003 that was Reserve Supreme Female at the WI State Fair and went on to win the IA State Fair Junior Show. Although Cortney and Wesley are no longer showing, Steve helps local kids by allowing them to show our best females. We offer a select group of cows annually via private treaty as well as 25-30 bulls each Spring/Summer. Contact us for more information on your next set of females or herd sire. From time to time we do have open heifers and show steers as well. Steve Bowden - (608) 963-5526
