These are from a week and a half ago. There are at least three from this litter that I will be watching. My chunky castor doe (Woodchuck 2nd?) and my black buck (he posed decently). The other is my black broken otter buck, he sat right into pose position, so we'll see. I'd like to keep my chinchilla doe, but I think her spine goes too far down under her shoulders.

Every morning, the little runt pokes his head up first. They have begun embracing water and grain!

I am actually surprised Tiny survived the last three days. These chunky kits are starting to open their eyes!

Week old kits! I can't tell if I have two broken chinchillas or just one - either way, very exciting. Tiny is still doing great!

Because you need daily updates on the babies. Tiny is still kicking!

Some kits I am excited about.
A fully black one, which may be a male, but I haven't had a solid black since my very first litter in 2023.
There's this beautiful broken, not sure if it will be blue or something else. Could be a doe.
Here is tiny tiny blue, not sure it will make it.
And a broken black! Hello!

What is your opinion on protruding guard hairs?
I was growing this diluted chinchilla for her hide, she is now big enough that I want to breed her back to her sire for the spring time. Particularly for fur, do long guard hairs cause much problem? Her coat is really dense right now.

Happy babies! I love all the colors. One of the black (I anticipate the color to be Castor or something, but we shall wait and see) broken's should be a doe, which I am quite excited about.

Maxine gave birth to nine beautiful kits! It looks like I got a variety of colors, too. Full Moon breedings might become a staple for me, haha.
And there is Maxine with the anxious, "I don't have anything!" look I will get for the next three weeks.

Maxine is ready to have her babies by Sunday or sooner. Such a fat mama.
