Just a friendly reminder! That it is pride month and this insta, the Facebook and discord is ran by a chaotic q***r gremlin pixie with a community to follow. Many have found it to be a safe place to in the closet or broom closet and occasionally pantry. Moons and Runes is and always will be one place for it. -Obscura 🌈

I’ve been away for a little bit and I’m sorry. Life gets away but my plan is to truly make this happen for everyone again! Back to fun learning right haha

Over the weekend I was with my partner and we went to a wedding with some “witchy” themes so to speak. Whereas there were some things done beautifully, there was also some things that should have been done a little more safely.

Safely? What do I mean about that? Yes I do talk about intentions a lot. Energies too! (More of this stuff as well on our discord) However you also need wards, protections, cleansing. This person however did very little of this and “adopted” things for their help.

I’m very a**l so to speak when it comes to cleanse and protection of those around me. I even offered to help but they declined. In my case I had a satchel with palo santo, tigers eye, quartz, obsidian and amethyst. Always be careful in this sort of thing as well -Obscura

I’m back at it! I’m also going to try a few new things. Let me know what you guys, gals and nonbinary pals think!

This does often happen with crystal but sometimes the crystal itself can be just that- fragile. Has this happened to you? Let’s hear your stories! Obscura

I’m so sorry things have been extremely MIA as of lately, let’s get back to business!

Let’s try something different. How about something pretty and useful! Crystals! When I was beginning my journey into the craft; I knew one thing was crystals and that was major but hey what can I say? I got crow brain 🐦‍⬛

To begin with let’s say quartz. One of the most used in practice for many for a variety of things. A universal basic. Clarity, amplifying energy and spiritual growth. Can be used in protection, cleansing, manifestation- see where I’m going with a universal approach when comes to crystals?

There are a variety of types when it comes to quartz. Between shape, size, and other forms. My personal favorite is when it’s in the raw uncut compared to the tumbled and polished. Obscura

Now not all of these are hyper accurate and some are very similar to one another but here’s some of my experiences. As a child I grew up wearing the cross, and that was up till I was maybe 12 years old. And then it stopped working with myself personally. After that I grew heavily drawn to the pentacle and ankh. Those I still wear regularly. As well as dream catcher and lotus that are tattooed together on my calf. To me the lotus is rising from the mud, ankh is in my practice as i respect the dead and work closely in my practice, the pentacle for protection, and energy, the dreamcatcher was something I was raised up on heavily used for protection at night🖤-Obscura

I’m a little bit behind but let’s get back to it! We just hit the Winter Solstice and Yule! That means we had the longest night of the year 😱 and the days are slowly getting longer (glacier slow)

But what does this all mean for us? Especially when it comes to a spiritual sense. Let’s start with the basics the the spiritual world. Many different roots of the holiday seasons come different backgrounds. A lot of them in this case is Europe (Saturnalia, Yule, Solstice and Mothers Night) make up some of our current traditions. Such as the current gift giving, feasting, tree decor, and the endless energy we feel this time of year.

Much like during Samhain the veil is incredibly thin too. As a kid I couldn’t understand why I felt the same way I did when it was Halloween but as an adult now, knowing what i do? It makes sense. A lot of traditions influence folklore this time of year too.

And not to forget the other traditions and cultures Happy Holidays in general! As well as a friendly reminder Moons and Runes understands that the holidays can be hard for a variety of reasons and you’re always welcome here with us 🖤-Obscura

What is up my ghouls, goblins and practicing pumpkins!? Today is a few things depending on what you celebrate. Whether it’s Halloween or Sahmain (Sah-win). Both of which share similar themes but are also different too.

Those in common include but not limited to: bonfires, costumes, sweets/feasts, carvings. Shared things of the otherworldly, memory and ancestry, and the seasonal shift.

Hello practicing peeps, those who are new here and those wanting to learn! It is the Autumn Equinox! To some it’s considered that, the first day of fall, Mabon, Ohigan (Japanese). Regardless it’s a time of letting go, a transition of darkness. A reminder of endings and beginnings. Planting “seeds” of the future.

A common story involving this is Persephone traveling back to the Underworld. She was here to bring spring and warmth as Kore and now she returns back to Hades for the cold months as the leaves wither and crops die and turn to Persephone.

You may have noticed that things are looking a little different and you know what? That’s okay! Fear not because it’s a good thing! Whereas Lia may not be active here, they have their own thing going on in real life and they are helping out some in discord. Come visit us there and it’s becoming lively again!
