IT'S AMICUS NEWSLETTER TIME! This May 2026 Edition is packed chock full of community events, socialization, fitness, volunteering, and skill building! We had a very busy month at Amicus while having fun and hanging out with friends!

A HUGE thank you to those that came out to the PVI/RLE paint & sip fundraiser this past Wednesday! We truly appreciate the support! A special thank you to our very creative, volunteer, mocktail barista and her fantastic assistant! It was a fun night that we look forward to hosting again!

This past Wednesday Amicus had a huge presence at the area Spring Special Olympics Track & Field competition. PVI/RLE alone, had 37 athletes 🎉

I95 radio station does an annual fundraiser for Special Olympics Maine, it took place the day after our area competition. Two PVI athletes had the honor to go live on the radio to help advocate for SOME and raise money!

PVI/RLE, along with the rest of the world, shines less bright. We’ve unfortunately lost another participant that was a shining star for many years in our programs. His happy go lucky attitude, music tapping feet & contagious laughter will forever be missed. May you rest in peace friend.

On April 29th PVI & RLE participants and staff volunteered at the UMO Maine Day Meal Packout. UMO reported that over 80,000 meals were packed in about 3 hours 😮 The PVI group delivered 40 boxes from this event to the Machias Food Pantry.
