Sarah's House of Maine was created to ease the burdens faced by patients and caregivers who must travel far from home to receive lifesaving medical care. Sarah’s House, founded in memory of Sarah Robinson, provides free temporary lodging and support for cancer patients and caregivers traveling to the Bangor-Brewer area for medical treatment. Since opening its doors, the organization has welcomed over 780 guests at no cost to them and their caregivers.
Yesterday's groundbreaking ceremony marked the beginning of construction of The Elevated Expansion Project, which will add four additional guest rooms and accessibility upgrades to Sarah's House. The expansion includes a new elevator and several critical infrastructure improvements to better support guests with mobility challenges. The project, designed by WBRC, is being built by Bowman Constructors.

UMaine's Shawn Walsh Hockey Center and Alfond Arena Renovation and Expansion was chosen as a MEREDA Notable Project -- one of 7 projects recognized for making a lasting impact on Maine's built environment. WBRC shared the recognition with project contractor PC Construction.
Designed in collaboration with Crawford Architects, this reimagined University of Maine facility has been a game-changer for student-athletes, coaches, fans, and the regional hockey community.
Thank you, Maine Real Estate and Development Association for sponsoring this important annual award, and for honoring the winners in style on April 30 at the University of Southern Maine's Abromson Center.

At WBRC, May 1 is always a great reminder of the power of a deadline. It's the final day to apply for our annual scholarship for Maine high school seniors entering the fields of architecture or engineering. We often get half of the number of applications in the final day or two. :)
Anyone seeking encouragement about the future of the A/E profession ought to sponsor a scholarship for high school seniors entering our field. The quality of applications is amazing!
A huge shout-out to the Maine guidance counselors who nudge their future architects and engineers to apply each year.
