The Bangor VALOR Project was formed to meet the increasing need for social outlets for Vets in the greater Bangor Area.

Our goal is to serve the local community with a social club of events and recreational opportunities, comaraderie, and outreach.

I just read this story in the newspaper and decided to look up the GoFund site to see if there was a campaign for this couple. Apparently this veteran and his wife were duped by a shady company that cost them $60,000 and the loss of their home- and then promptly disappeared! To top it off, this veteran is quite ill and is positioned so that his widow will not have a home to live in at all once he passes away. Horrible!

I am happy to announce that I have officially accepted a position in the Veterans Education and Transition Services (VETS) at the University of Maine. Happy to be able to bring community resources and educational benefits to Maine Veterans. And taking another shot at reviving the BVP is on the list.

I believe that the veteran and his family may be victims of harassment but it is unclear. They need some stability and a new environment to be healthy.
