Drum Lessons

I have always thought it necessary to have a drum set opposing a drum set for teaching. Almost crucial. Let all of us, go down the rabbit hole a little bit.

There are three main reasons. Numero Uno: Lessons usually last a half hour. Every second counts. This arrangement is going to streamline my teaching. Number Two: When a student hears something aurally, I believe it enters their brain and stays in their brain a different way (than reading it off a page). This is especially true for young men and women who are just starting out with written music. In my experience, there is something very important about the hearing/playing connection. Number three: I can play with the students as I teach. Playing does not equal a metronome but I feel that it reinforces what it is that I am trying to teach. And it is a different way to help students learn. And that's all I want, for students to learn.

I am a complete nerd for Percussion Equipment. Maybe, you are too.

This drum set represents the culmination of thirty years. It is my fourth drum set and my very last drum set. I don't see how it could get better. For me. The cymbals are half new and half second hand. The soundscape is deep and gorgeous. The different tones are extremely complimentary to one another. I couldn't be more pleased. Sometimes, I am beside myself.
