Our kids learn at home. And this is such a beautiful example of fostering their own unique creative genius. Through leading by example, through connection, through play. This was a completely improvised and organic moment. Just for fun. Just a magical moment on a regular day. Making music!
(Also, thank goodness for daddy .makes.music and his talents with the looper pedal. And his youthful fun spirit. Most fun daddy ever.)

☀️Happy 11th Birthday to the boy that made us parents. Avery Jude, we love you more than words (so we wrote you this song) and wish you a lifetime of happiness and love. ☀️
I have a folder in my phone photos titled “Avery reads”. Just him, doing something he loves. It’s evolved to include all of his siblings. He learns at home, and was never once told to pick up a book. (We often laugh that we have to ask him to stop reading!) He just enjoys it. And he remembers so many details, it’s incredible, and part of what makes him uniquely him.
(He also probably played about 1000 hours of hockey this winter, between the rink and the street in front of our house! Those photos will be on daddy’s phone 😘)
