There are still several open spots in Saturday's match!

We will be having our regular bi-monthly Bandera Defensive Rules match this Saturday at the Bandera Gun Club, 809 FM1077.

***Reminder from Bandera Gun Club owners: You may collect your own brass after shooting, but brass already on the range belongs to the range. Please don't pick any brass other than what you shoot yourself.***

Setup @ 7:30, Sign in @8, Start @9:15.

All help for setup is welcome, and setup crew is entered in a drawing for a free entry to any future match.

To encourage younger folks to get involved, first time competitors under age 30 get their first entry at Bandera matches for free.

This will be a Defensive Rules match, NOT an IDPA match.
No gun handling anywhere except at the safety tables, or under the supervision of a Safety Officer.
Use your regular carry gear with magazines at normal capacity.
I recommend shooting up your carry ammo annually and replacing it annually.
AIWB is allowed.
Non-threat hits are 30 seconds, not a measly 5 seconds.
There will be load/unload tables for those who carry to and from the match.
You'll need about 100 rounds.
Many targets will be covered with t-shirts.
There will be photorealistic targets and steel targets with changing threat/nonthreat indicators.

Beginning shooters of any age are welcome!

Credit cards, Apple Pay, Venmo, and Zelle are accepted at this match.

Prices:
General Public - $30
Member of Bandera Gun Club or Active-duty LEO or MIL - $20
2nd Gun (2 registrations) - $15

Update: On Sunday, July 4, Texas Tactical will have their monthly Carbine/2-Gun match at Total Hit Ranch, near Loop 1604 & Hwy 90.

However, there will be a special “World War Weapons” division available.

Stages will have Historical themes and props, with some challenges that haven’t been seen on the range in a long time.

Squads still have available slots, so dust off the safe queens and come shoot the D-Day match! Link in the comments:

TacCon 2027. April 2-4 at the Dallas Pistol Club

Tickets for next year’s TacCon should go on sale in the next week. TacCon is the premier annual event for self-defense-minded folks, both new and experienced.

It’s three days of 40+ nationally recognized trainers, about 350 attendees, live-fire range blocks, classroom blocks, and hands-on training in medical, legal, empty hands, managing unknown contacts and much more.

The event has sold out in a very short time in most previous years, so if you want to reserve your spot, be sure to check taccon.info often.

While setting up the classroom, we had a couple of looky-loos poke their heads in.

10 motivated students paid rapt attention as Patrick demystified the complexities of the SO’s responsibilities.

Then, we headed to the range for the practical work.
