One of our clients recently purchased a beautiful home in Baltimore and required assistance with updating their fireplace. The existing rubber laminate covering the hearth and brick mantle surround was not to their taste. We successfully removed the laminate and installed heat-resistant tile, sealed the ash dump, and painted the firebox. The end result was outstanding. We were recently hired to repair a fireplace and chimney that experienced a chimney fire. The fire was caused by a buildup of creosote inside the flue and a lack of proper maintenance. Is your fireplace safe to use this winter? How would you even know? During a FREE chimney inspection, we discovered the firebrick in this firebox was extremely distressed. Deeming this fireplace- “Not safe to use”.
Our client then hired us to remove the defective brick and re-build their firebox. They can now use their fireplace safely this winter!
