It’s been 4 months since the last update on this painting for/of Ganesha. Four months of hanging out on the easel without any progress and then todayI got the itch to break out the paint and add this layer of a lotus, which is the last ine before I add Ganesha himself.

This evening, I finished writing Episode 2: What is a god!

Whew! It took a while to get all my thoughts in order. The last few paragraphs were drafted listening to Beastie Boys “Intergalactic,” so they may be a bit spicy. I don’t know.

It’s been quite a campaign and the finish line is in sight! The North American Animal Wisdom Oracle Kickstarter campaign ends tomorrow, May 6, at 8:45am ET.

I want to thank you all for your continued support and cheerleading. You have buoyed my spirits through this month.
I have one last ask of you all, and that is to share with your friends in real life or via social media one last time today about this campaign. We only need about 10 folks to either pledge at the ”deck only” level or to add a deck to their pledge to bump up to the stretch goal for 3 additional cards in the deck. I would really love for that to happen.

One of the hardest things to do when creating this deck was deciding which animals to include. 72 cards seems like a lot until you start to dive into how rich the diversity of animal life in North America really is. There are so many different types of habitats and ecosystems — and types of animals: mammals, reptiles, birds, amphibians, invertebrates, and insects. And they are all so vital to the healthy functioning of the living world.

If you have been putting it off, now is the time. There are just 2 more days for you to get in on the North American Animal Wisdom Oracle’s Kickstarter campaign.

Rewards include the deck of 72 cards, 5”x7” prints, a live reading using the cards, and a custom animal portrait. You can also add on a workbook with information about each animal spirit along with room to journal about your encounters with them.

Brown Bear (Ursus arctos): Brown bear is one of the largest living land carnivores. They usually live alone and are not highly territorial, except in mating season or if food sources are tight. They tend to avoid areas of human habitation unless drawn in by easy-to-get meals near their home ranges.

Message: You just want to be left alone to live your life. Go out into the wilds and use all your sense to really observe everything around you. You are a part of this world.
