Project PLASE has been actively working to end homelessness in Baltimore since 1974. Advocacy by definition means "speaking on behalf of."

Our philosophy is to stand with and serve marginalized and underprivileged individuals and families who lack access to resources in the larger community. We help persons in need through a philosophical and practical approach of advocacy. In practice, it means accessing and developing resources to meet basic human needs.

Here at Project PLASE on MLK Day, we embraced the importance of hope while sharing our dreams. We also enjoyed some fun games and our wonderful volunteer, who we truly appreciated.

We enjoy these engaging experiences as they decrease social isolation and encourage our clients to push forward.

Project PLASE is a leading provider of services and support for unhoused veterans and their families through the SUSTAINABLE HOUSING FOR VETERANS AND FAMILIES

SSVF is a short-term crisis intervention program, with services including case management, housing and financial counseling, and assistance in obtaining benefits and services.

We work to serve 450 veterans annually with 60% of our clients being literally homeless and the remaining 40% at imminent risk of becoming homeless. Stable housing is a goal for all.

Please listen to the words of one of our grateful clients. She says it all far better than we can. We hope you will consider helping this important work by donating at through our online giving portal:

Project PLASE is about people, those in need and those with special drive to help. Our successes rest in the hands of devoted staff and volunteers who bring passion and compassion over years of service.

During reconstruction of our primary home, Project PLASE is operating from the former convent of the St. Benedict's Monastery of the Mill Hill neighborhood West Baltimore.

Karen Thomas is the director for temporary housing. She is especially devoted to ensuring vulnerable, unhoused people have a place to call home.

Next May or thereabouts, Karen will help lead a return to St. Joseph Monastery School which will provide temporary and permanently supported housing to 90 people, half of whom will be veterans.

If you are interested in donating goods such as blankets, client clothing or food, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Tiana Samuels via email at [email protected] or by phone at (410)-837-1400 ex. 121.

We thank you, from Project PLASE💜
