Fall always makes me want more — more color, more pattern, more texture. And thankfully, that seems to be exactly where textiles are headed. 🍂
Animal velvets, really good plaids, wallpaper that feels like art… and apparently a little embroidery project for when I decide I’m staying home for the evening.

Old houses come with charm… and some VERY questionable bathroom storage. 😂
For both of these bathrooms, the goal isn’t to completely reinvent the space — it’s to take what’s already there and make it work so much better.
In the primary bath, that means turning an awkward closet and dormer window into beautiful built-in storage that actually feels intentional. And in the den bath, we’re borrowing a little unused wall space for a tall cabinet that adds storage without overwhelming the room.
Proof that sometimes the best solution isn’t more square footage. It’s just using the square footage you already have better.

I’m always paying attention to materials when I travel—old stone floors, brick, and all those beautiful imperfections that come with age.
But bringing that feeling into a modern home doesn’t mean you have to use the exact same materials.
There are so many options that can give you the depth, variation, and character you’re after while being more practical for the space, the budget, or everyday life.
It’s not about using the “real” thing just for the sake of it. It’s about choosing the material that gives you the look you want and makes sense for how you live.

This is the kind of room that makes you want to cancel your plans and stay home.
Nothing too precious, nothing you have to tiptoe around - just a really comfortable family space made for everyone to pile in and get cozy.
A big sectional, a spot by the fire, window seats, plenty of natural light… basically all the ingredients for a room that actually gets lived in.
And to me, that’s always the goal. A beautiful home is great. A beautiful home your family actually wants to hang out in? Even better.

There are some spaces in a home that don’t need a big job to do. They just need to make you want to stay awhile.
This little alcove is one of those spaces for me. It evolved quite a bit from where I thought it was headed and, in the end, became something so much better.

I will never turn down an opportunity for wallpaper. Especially when the room is small enough to take a risk.
This little foyer is proof that the spaces you pass through can still be part of the design story. A good floor, a great piece of art, a picture light, and wallpaper with personality - and suddenly a few square feet feel like a moment.
Sometimes the smallest rooms are the most fun to design.

The wallpaper is in and this little moment completely changed the space.
Bold, artful, and just enough color — plus, I love how it pulls together everything happening in the adjoining room.
And yes, we wallpapered the utility panel so it practically disappears. It’s all in the details.

It’s Friday, so you know what that means… let’s talk about the bar. 🍸
And since fall is almost here, I’m giving one of my favorites a seasonal update: the Chai Espresso Martini.
All the things I love about an espresso martini, but with warm chai spices that make it feel just right for this time of year. And yes, I fully believe your cocktail should coordinate with the season. 😉
