The MTA Reform Act has officially been signed into law! Over the summer of 2025, I was appointed to serve on the legislative Work Group on the Organization of the Maryland Transit Administration. HB1081 will implement the workgroup’s recommendations, including establishing a Board of Directors for Baltimore Core Transit Service, establishing the Commuter Services Advisory Board, and repealing the Baltimore Regional Transit Commission.
HB1081 will give Baltimore a seat at the table as decisions are made regarding major investments and projects in our region. This is a significant step forward towards the public transportation system we deserve. I am grateful to Delegate Marc Korman, Senator Cory McCray, and all of the advocates across the region that helped to get this bill over the finish line and signed into law.

It has been a busy week for the Edelson Office. As always, we are focused on economic development. We had the honor of joining the Governor as he signed HB1232. This bill, that I worked on in coordination with , , the , and a number of other anchor institutions, permits Baltimore City to enter into PILOT agreements for certain economic development projects and is absolutely essential to revitalizing our Downtown.
Keeping with the theme of economic development, I was thrilled to speak on a panel at the Accelerate Maryland Economic Forum. The conversation focused on innovative policies to support small businesses and encourage growth. It was an honest and timely conversation about our shared economic future. I look forward to many more.

Adventures in canvassing with Chase and uncle Luke. Team 46 is a family. Not surprising that Chase can’t stop talking about how much fun he had. Who could say no to “vote for my daddy and his friends.”

Following another intense and highly productive Session, it is so great to get back out on the doors talking about everything we delivered for residents this year. Not surprisingly energy costs were the #1 item of discussion. I am so proud of the work that , , Luke Clippinger and I did for our constituents to lower costs, increase accountability, and protect Marylanders from the craziness in DC.

For the past 4 years I’ve been working every day to fill the shoes of my predecessor, our incredible Comptroller Brooke Lierman. It is a steep task. It was wonderful to have her address the House of Delegates from the rostrum on sine die. Here’s hoping we both get at least four more years to do the work of the people!

It’s 6pm on a Saturday. Do you know where your Baltimore City House Delegation members are? Yes, we are hard at work debating and voting on important legislation for the entire state of Maryland. We started at 10am and are still going strong! We will sleep eventually…

Thank you to Pluribus News for covering the Transportation and Climate Alignment Act in their recent article. The TCA has never been closer to passing thanks to the hard work of our brilliant advocates and my phenomenal Senate partner, Senator Shelly Hettleman. We are so happy to see that our legislation is making waves across the country!

Our State budget has passed the House and Senate in bipartisan fashion. Coming into this year’s General Assembly Session we had to solve a billion-dollar deficit and committed to doing so without raising any taxes or fees. Unlike the federal government, we do not have the ability to print money, so we had to solve this challenge using existing resources. I am incredibly proud of the long, long hours that my colleagues and I put into ensuring that we passed a balanced budget, that maximized every taxpayer dollar, and that invests in our people and our economy.
Check out the video below for some of my topline highlights of the investments we are making this year.
