El fuerte mensaje de la cónsul peruana de Miami a jóvenes en cuarentena: “El primero que me haga una fiestita o me sale pasear, se va del hotel" 04/08/2020

Know exactly how she feels.

(...) Los peruanos somos fuertes y ...

Walking the Memorials 07/18/2015

A hot day in DC, dropped off by Mr Alfajor before we headed off to see the sights, including the Vietnam War Memorial, Lincoln, Korean War, Martin Luther King Jr, Roosevelt and Jefferson with Gladys and Andrew and his stroller (don't mention the stroller). We got a glimpse of the White House. Lots of helicopters too.

Another brilliant museum

Washington Zoo 07/18/2015
Baltimore Aquarium 07/17/2015

Went to the land of the wire, no projects though, strictly the posh sector of Baltimore. Great aquarium, Andrew had to see his puffer fish, which we eventually saw as well as Nemo and sharks. We stroked rays and jellyfish. Finished with lunch of crabcakes and lobster sarnies.

AmericanAir&Space Museum Dulles 07/16/2015

Amazing place, on this earth would you believe the Enola Gay, A Blackbird and the Space Shuttle could all be together as well as some other beauties! Top Museum

Pantanos de Villa Form 1 Field Trip 07/11/2015

Great day out teaching the students about nature just on the edge of the city. The pantanos, or marshes are just to the south of LIma and are becoming so encroached upon that one wonders if they will last the decade. This is a migratory spot for hundreds of thousands of birds who migrate throguh the Americas and rest here and feed up before heading off. Some actually summer here and some here live all year round. It is a beautiful place to visit. About 20% of the students had never been before and they have driven past it for seven years. But they loved it. They went on a nature treasure hunt, bird watching with Geraint Langford and had to look through the swamp for hidden clues to fill in a crossword as well as write down reasons for mans encroachment into the area. Education at its best.

Vermilion Flycatcher (Pyrocephalus rubinus), Male, sighted in Chilca. Lovely birds, they remind me of Robins back in England.

Hummingbirds 01/31/2015

There are loads of them in Lima and bloody difficult to photograph!
