Last week, we had the pleasure of joining everyone involved in the design and construction, along with community leaders, in the ribbon-cutting ceremony for our newest completed project, The Standard on Bond, in Bel Air, MD. This brand-new mixed-use project, boasting ground-floor retail space, three floors of apartments, and penthouse offices, is well on its way to full occupancy. We look forward to seeing how this new building in downtown Bel Air becomes a catalyst for change.
Design Trend: Much of retail design has centered on highlighting the products for sale; however, as the main point of sale for many retailers has shifted to online channels, we see more clients asking for bolder, less product-focused designs. Striking, attention-grabbing designs draw people inside, where they take photos and post them on social media, generating buzz for the business and bringing more eyes to their online stores than could ever see their physical locations.

This year’s spring palette derives inspiration from English teahouses. Soft green and blue tones balance the saturated honey wood floors and rattan. Mismatched plaid textiles evoke quirky vibes while providing comfort as you “fancy a cuppa” during spring showers.
