School is finally done! I’m hoping my creative juices start flowing again so I can be more active in my studio and here. Thanks all for sticking with me and encouraging me during these last three years!

Got a new Dremmel just in time for a break between semesters! Toki has informed me that I need to spend the day cleaning up the studio if I want to start making stuff again.

Anatomical heart ornament 🫀
Old anatomical drawings certainly favored aesthetic as much (if not more than) accuracy. I sought to capture that artistic style in this burn. The labels are even in Latin for a little historical accuracy. Will be up in the shop by the end of the day (link in bio).

Whenever I see a Luna moth, I’ll always think of my folks’ previous house. Luna moths would regularly congregate around the flood light on the barn and bats would regularly swoop by and eat them, leaving only these delicate, intricate wings behind.

I refer to most things I make as a “labor of love” and this sign was even more so because i made it for this incredible person to celebrate her upcoming wedding!
The flower crown was not a labor of love tho…it was a labor of swearing and nearly giving up multiple times. It fills my heart to know that she loved both of these creations 🖤

Realized after I started burning that if I had just moved the moth’s body down instead of centering it I could’ve fit the whole top wings and now I can’t unsee it. 😩

As the pandemmy seems to be winding down more people are going to start thinking it’s ok to take liberties with others’ personal space again. Avoid awkwardness and the social pressure to press your body against someone else’s with a “no hugs” pin. They come in polite and less polite.

This was one of my favorite logos to woodburn, very meditative

Finally finished this labor of love! I saw this old box sitting broken on a shelf at a resale store. I saw beyond what it was into what it could be with a little TLC. Some woodburning, paint, new hardware, mirrors and a little felt and this box is ready to delight a new keeper. The secure latch will protect the beloved trinkets held within and the Edvard Munch quote will remind all that our presence on earth does not stop with death 🖤💀🤘🏻
