On Saturday, we celebrated my niece and nephew's birthday! I made my 1 year old nephew a room sign. I think he enjoyed the wrapping paper more than the sign, but he looks pretty happy, right?

Last week, I decided to explore the oft-forgotten maker genre of sewing & embroidery!
I was amazed when Janice, my instructor at Jo-Ann Fabrics, informed me of the impressive technology available in today's machines! They create words and patterns with a few simple clicks, or they can create custom designs with the help of some computer software.
Obviously, I stitched "Bmore Fab" into a piece of cloth for a demo. Check out the photos!

For Bmore Fab, the search for a real life home continues.
Yesterday, our top brass visited with the leasing realtor at 1240 Light at the corner of Light & Ostend. My Federal Hill homies will remember that location as the former home to "Ole Federall Hill Liquors".

I finally visited Makerspace heaven last week: Tech Shop.
A Tech Shop opened in DC/Arlington in April and I was excited to make a trip. I battled the traffic in and out of Crystal City to take a tour.
the tour left me flabbergasted; they had everything a maker could possibly dream of: woodworking, metalworking, 3D printing, laser engraving, CAD modelling software. They even had a bicycle repair station! And best of all they had SPACE! SPACE for storage, SPACE for work desks, SPACE for classes, SPACE for offices.
