ā€œJust As You Areā€

Part of The Distinction Collection

Somewhere along the way, many of us learned that we had to become something else to be worthy.

Smarter.
Prettier.
Thinner.
More successful.
More polished.
More accepted.

So we spend years chasing versions of ourselves that were never required in the first place.

This piece is about coming home to yourself.

The colors represent every part of who you are. The bright parts, the messy parts, the healing parts, the parts still becoming.

None of them need to be erased.

None of them need permission to exist.

They belong.

ā€œJust As You Areā€ is part of The Distinction, a collection exploring the emotions, experiences, and invisible stories that make us who we are. It is a reminder that your value was never waiting at the end of a self improvement journey. It was present from the beginning.

Included with the original artwork is a custom scroll, tied with a ribbon, containing the rest of her story and an original poem reserved exclusively for the collector.

Original artwork available.

Custom sizing available, including:
• 4 ft x 3 ft
• 3 ft x 2 ft
• Additional custom sizing available upon request

Framing options available.

Message me for pricing, commission inquiries, or to make this piece yours.

The world will always have opinions about who you should become.

The real challenge is remembering who you already are.

My gallery is officially open. šŸŽØ

Many of you already know that painting has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Over the years, I’ve created hundreds of pieces, and many have traveled through galleries, exhibits, businesses, and private collections.

Several paintings have recently returned from galleries and exhibits, and any pieces not currently on display are now available for purchase.

If you see a painting you love that has already sold, don’t be afraid to ask. Many pieces can be recreated in custom sizes, often with new details and variations that make them uniquely yours.

My favorite commissions are large statement pieces, especially 3’ x 2’ and 4’ x 3’ canvases that have room to breathe and tell a story.

And if you don’t have a specific painting in mind, that’s okay too.

Sometimes people come to me with a dream they had.
A memory they can’t stop thinking about.
A feeling they want to capture.
A person they miss.
A verse that changed their life.
A vision they can’t quite put into words.

You bring me the thought.

I’ll bring it to life.

Art has always felt a little magical to me. God plants an idea in one person’s heart, and somehow it becomes something another person can see, feel, and connect with.

If you’re looking for an original piece, a custom commission, or just want to see what’s currently available, send me a message.

I’d love to create something meaningful with you. ā˜€ļø

Test

Photos from Amy Houck's post 05/23/2026

I haven’t felt like in years.

Tonight, for the first time in a very long time, I did.

Maybe healing looks like this sometimes. Quietly finding your way back to yourself in the safety of a home that feels peaceful… in a life that finally feels soft enough to create inside of again.

I think love plays a role in it.
Being supported by myself.
Being supported by my partner.
Feeling safe.
Feeling happy.
Feeling free enough to sit down and make something just because my soul wanted to.

This series is called ā€œGetting Ready.ā€

Earlier today, I saw sketches that inspired me. When I got home, I tried to recreate them from memory, but somewhere along the way they became my own.

A woman sitting there wondering…
What should she wear?
Should she go out?
Should she stay?
And then eventually… she does.

There’s so much hidden inside each piece that I won’t fully explain because I want people to find their own meaning in them.

So tell me…
What do you see?

To all the other weirdos that stop on their runs and walks to admire the way the sunlight hits the trees I wrote this song for you ā¤ļøā¤ļøšŸ’œā¤ļø

I call this short ā€œ24ā€

You didn’t dodge a bullet.
You got hit… and kept breathing.

And people don’t talk about that part enough.
The part where you walk away but you’re not the same person who walked in.
The part where you smile, show up, move forward… but you’re still carrying pieces of what happened.

Not broken. Not finished. But changed.

Healing isn’t pretending it didn’t hurt.
It’s learning how to live with what it left behind without letting it own you.

You can be healing and still feel it.
You can be strong and still have scars.
You can move forward without lying about what it cost you.

You didn’t just ā€œget through it.ā€
You survived something that tried to take you out… and you’re still here.

That counts for more than people realize.
love
