26 years ago, at 19 years old, I moved into an apartment on St. Paul Street in Charles Village. It was around that time that the newly formed showed me one of the reasons why I would forever love this town - people care and they work for what they believe in here, in spite of the sometimes terrible odds. A lot of that effort is in literature. I still have a book or two from waaay back, when free books to this broke college student meant the world.
This little handmade pine needle basket is going to be available at on October 30th for The Book Thing's Booktoberfest silent auction. She can hold your small treasure or grace your wall. Either way, she'll warm your home with a piece of the forest and the love of books.

Coming to the this weekend? I have new wall hangings! My two loves - hills and shorelines, made with reclaimed wood used in acoustic guitar making, waxed cord, and found branches.

Two new baskets! Completely handmade out of loblolly pine needles from Marylands Eastern Shore and Brazilian waxed cord - these babies are such a labor of love. Split stitching a basket is maddening but so worth it for the end result.
The larger basket has a stitched in layer of handmade horseradish cordage that I made with horseradish leaves.

New weavings coming with me to this weekend! Hand-woven onto a handmade reclaimed wood frames, suede hanger.

I've added a shop update, along with it is a super special, small collection of earrings made with wood from the iconic Shawshank Redemption white oak. Yes, the tree from the movie located in Ohio. It was tragically struck by lightning and the wood sold off. I have some of it and will be occasionally using it in my work. They're are very limited but you can get a pair in my shop now. Hand-painted, real pressed plants.
