Welcome to the ADVENTURE! Maddie and Herby Benavent dropped everything in their lives to sail around the Atlantic for 4 years in their 1968 Morgan 45.

They share everything they’ve learned through how-to instructional videos as well as a weekly vlog.

Some goodies came in the mail today!
Going to test fit some panels, inverter, and hefty MPPT from Weize into Windpuff. It’s time to start planning the layout of all the components that make a sailboat comfortable!

Well we’re almost at our 10th anniversary! We celebrated by returning (by plane) to our honeymoon destination: Coco Plum Island, Belize. It was an amazing way to rekindle that pre-parent romance and reconnect with the tropics! Also I turned 35 while we were there! (And yes, of course we took out the Hobie)

What better way to spend time in paradise than kicking back and reading this fantastic book by our friend James of ?! I highly recommend “Be the Captain” to all sailors. James is a fantastic writer! He makes you laugh, think, and learn about everything from selecting the perfect boat to keeping watch at sea.

Continuing the interior reinforcements: half bulkhead on the port side, quarter bulkhead on the starboard, and a ring frame spanning the distance between them. Once these members are tabbed in, I can gut the rest of the interior and start building the head and quarter berth.

Bulkhead installed! Made great fillets using Hi-Performance 2:1 Epoxy and their curved epoxy spreader, then covered them with lots of 1708 fiberglass for a robust tabbing with a gentle curve from bulkhead to boat. This bulkhead will separate the new head to the left side from the new galley on the right side.

The transom extension is on and coated with gelcoat to protect it from the sun while I work on other parts of the build. Once the boat is built, I’ll go back and fair it all up and make it really nice 😊
