From the ring-pot series (yes, there was enough for a series). I seem to recall learning about a similar design in medieval Arabic culture, but I am not positive about that. This one is raku fired with alkaline blue and white crackle glazes.

A relic from high school pottery class, the claw-glove remains a proud achievement. Don't try it on, though, the inside is pretty prickly!

The retrospective continues:

During this week, a retrospective, starting way back in the early 1980's. My siblings Gregory and Sophie also feature, since we didn't always sign our work.

This is a new design I'm working on, a cream and sugar set. I like the way the two vessels nestle together while sitting on the tray.

I just wrote "2012" on the bottom of a bowl, probably for the last time. This is a dorky thing that probably doesn't happen for everyone, but I am feeling some anxiety about my "3." I haven't practiced writing 3 much, and so I am nervous that the first few "2013's" will look funny. This happens to me every year.
