We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of CHF director and board member R. Bradley Sack, MD, ScD ’68. Dr. Sack was a professor at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and had worked for Johns Hopkins for over 40 years. His research into treatments of diarrheal diseases has saved countless lives over the decades. With our project Sunté, we electrify the health stations with environmentally friendly solar panels. The health stations are now equipped with an independent and reliable light source. Dayovo does not have to treat mothers-to-be in dim light anymore but has a clear sight. In addition, the power produced is used to run a mobile phone charging station. This way, the people who were avoiding the health stations before, are incentivised to attend them regularly and build trust in Dayovo and her co-workers step by step.
