A Treatise on Persistence and the Sacred Futility of Suffering

This work offers a philosophical meditation on existence as a state of perpetual descent, not into mythic damnation, but into unadorned revelation. Drawing upon Camus’ Myth of Sisyphus, the grim perseverance of Robert Frost, and the self mutilation of Clive Barker’s The Hellbound Heart, this record reframes life not as a climb toward light, but as a ritualized spiral into the marrow of being. Echoing the structure of Dante’s Inferno, it charts a path downward. Here, the only way out is through, through recurrence and the crushing weight of existence.

The sonic framework functions as a metaphysical pressure system. Disjointed time signatures unravel the listener’s orientation; punishing frequencies howl like sirens from a howling abyss. Here bass serves to crush the soul. Melody, when it appears, emerges not as beauty, but as a ghost of some lost sensation of lifes experiences. This is not an aesthetic rendering of torment; it is the sensation of being dragged downward by the gravity of existence.

Within this gravity walks the Architekt , a Virgil-like figure reimagined not as poet or sage, but as a faceless omen. He offers no escape, no salvation. The Wraith does not illuminate; he reveals the endless darkness within. A presence that affirms suffering is not an aberration, but the axis of the human experience.

As the descent deepens, the soul is laid bare. Stripped of identity, comfort, and illusion, it is brought to the brink of reckoning. The void becomes an unflinching mirror of cold judgement, pulling you ever deeper into a horrifying truth. The horror lies not in the descent, but in what is found there: the truth that we carry the abyss within us.

There is no ascent from this place. No myth of return. Eternal Descent is not an allegory, but a condition, a journey that sanctifies itself through its unrelenting honesty. It is not the journey that redeems, but the willingness to endure it without averting your eyes to its inherent truth
