Intern spotlight: Chari Molley

Introducing our second summer intern! Chari also comes to us through the MD Public Service Scholars program, which is a Maryland state program that provides students with paid internships at local nonprofits and state government offices.

Chari is a senior at Towson University with a major in Psychology and a minor in Family Science. Growing up in a single-parent household, she understands the ways in which communities often step up to support families when other systems fall short. Those experiences sparked her interest in understanding how community-based organizations can empower individuals and create opportunities for growth and resilience in the face of adversity. She is excited to be joining Intersection of Change because of its commitment to meeting people where they are and providing resources that strengthen individuals, families, and communities.

In honor of our Martha’s Place Open House today, we want to do a throwback to our very first Intersection of Change fundraiser in 1999. We gathered the community in what became the living room of our main Martha’s Place house (though it looks pretty different now)! Tonight, come see the continuation of the work that fundraiser began more than 25 years ago.

André is a graduate student in the Master of Public Management program at the University of Maryland, College Park, where he is pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management and Leadership. His background includes work in higher education, public service, and nonprofit leadership development, most recently serving as Graduate Coordinator for the Rawlings Undergraduate Leadership Fellows Program. He is excited to join Intersection of Change because of its holistic approach to addressing poverty through recovery support, workforce development, community revitalization, and the arts.
