Forever my favorite Queen, Anne Boleyn. On this day in 1536, she paid the ultimate price for being ahead of her time. She was a brilliant and headstrong woman. She stuck her neck out for Henry at a time when he needed her most. She was not a tart, she was smart and tried playing the long game. Sadly, her inability to produce a surviving male heir didn't help her situation. She also had enemies at court who conspired to have her removed in the only way they knew how, by proclaiming she committed treason. She wasn't even offered the option to be sent to a nunnery, they wanted her totally gone, as well anyone who may vouch for her.
Much like today, if you're a brilliant women in an area dominated by men, eventually they'll try to take you down or bury/steal your accomplishments. Sadly, that hasn't changed much in almost 500 years π
Do I think that deep down, Henry knew he made a mistake? Yes, and I think he lived with until his last breath, but never made it known to anyone else. I think if Jane Seymour had not produced a make heir, his love for her too would have faded. This is just my personal opinion on the matter, not historical fact.
π₯ pour one out for this amazing queen!
*Complete ensemble made by me last fall. Using patterns, notes, and books by . It was the most ambitious project I've done to date, mostly hand sewn. Let's face it, I used the machine for those straight skirt seams that would have bored me to death to do by hand π€£ You can go back in my feed to see posts about the construction process.

Happy Nurses' Week! A special thank you to my infusion center nurses for being amazing and stellar people! They are so empathetic and sweet and make my time there just a little bit better with their smiles and attitude. They are a ray of sunshine in a time when I need it most.
To anyone reading this who is also a nurse, thank you for everything you do, every day. The sacrifices you make, and the things you put up with. I want you to know you are appreciated.

Thank you team for welcoming me into the club no one really wants to join. But, once you join, you're surrounded by a sisterhood and strength you didn't know existed until that moment. Looking forward to the walk, and being a "Face of Hope" for Baltimore.
When friends ask why I'm walking. I am lucky to have support network that stretches around the globe, as well as locally. Not everyone is this lucky, and I walk for them. I walk to raise funds for the to further breast cancer research, resources, and support for those who need it.
I'm 43, de novo Metastatic TNBC. If you think you're too young, you're not, please go get checked!

This princess can't be stopped from doing what she loves! Friday morning, I did a troop for John's Hopkins and got this great shot of my costume parts in the sun. Since children were involved, I did not take photos. Today was The for their Star Wars Day π₯° Tomorrow, I have no Star Wars events, but a special event for
Monday, I'll be trooping as Leia WHILE getting chemo lol. Since I have an infusion on actual Star Wars Day, I talked with my infusion center and arranged for myself and two RL/501st friends to join me for an hour π₯° I'm hoping we make some people smile that day. I never thought I'd be the one getting a SW troop while in a hospital lol So keep an eye out for those pics on Monday π€©

Today, my parents stopped by to help me with house things. My dad fixed a few things that I'd been putting off again and again.
My mom helped me clean and organize my studio. It had been a disaster zone since November. There was stuff everywhere, the floor was covered in threads, and you couldn't even tell I had a desk and work tables.
Plus, poor Carrie hadn't been run in months, so she got an oil and clean and run for a few minutes to keep her in working order. Edith was a bit less grumpy, but got some love too.
I've been overwhelmed and fatigued from everything these past few months. But, yesterday, I got good news regarding my prognosis, and I'm feeling physically better since this was a no chemo week.
I've put off cleaning the studio because every time I went down, it was emotionally and mentally draining to figure out where to start, and I'd give up. I want to create beautiful things again, and having a clean and organized space makes me actually want to work β€οΈ

πΆ In the chemo, chemo, chemo, chemo, chemo room, all the pumps go beep and the nurses zoom, in the chemo, chemo, chemo, chemo, chemo room! πΆ
Sorry (not sorry) that's now on your head forever π€£π₯³
This week's infusion theme was Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room vibes! With a hint of Oga's Cantina, because Star Wars π€£ Yes, I brought my own neon light, mocktail mixers, and dressed the part.

Monday was infusion number 7 ! Great news though! My liver enzymes dropped quite a bit and were almost in the normal range! Low level 1 toxicity meant I could resume my Keytruda infusions! π₯³ Let's keep it liver! Behave so the rest of me can heal! I have a PETCT booked for April 21st. Hopefully, everything has shrunk considerably, and nothing new popped up π€ TNBC loves to travel and party hard, the Keytruda is vital in helping shut down those travel plans and parties with the chemo π
It was also the perfect day to wear my Cherry Blossom Wars print I designed for KNITorious Fabrics last year πΈπ©· Sadly, I left Ms Adventure Porg at home yesterday, but my Labubu that my friend Dana gave me, stood in as my emotional support plushie π
