NativeVision Family,

We are raising funds for the Alfie Jacques Ambassador Award, honoring our dear friend Alfie—renowned Haudenosaunee stick maker, and exceptional contributor to the past, present, and future of Lacrosse.

To carry on his legacy, the Alfie Jacques Ambassador Award elevates the sacred Indigenous roots of a game that originated with Alfie’s people, the Haudenosaunee. It also honors individuals who have ensured that the history, values, respect, and culture of the Creator’s game continues to be the foundation of all Lacrosse.

This initiative funds a college scholarship in Aflie’s name given to a Native American youth who has demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship, educational, and community service contributions through a national competition run by the Native Vision program at Johns Hopkins Center for Indigenous Health. It will also support continued wooden stick-making workshops throughout the year as funds allow, so this traditional practice is perpetuated.

NativeVision 2025 is a FREE K–12 camp hosted in partnership with Hózhǫ́ Horizons at Chinle Junior High & High Schools. Campers can enjoy lacrosse, volleyball, basketball, disc golf, as well as arts & crafts and life skills workshops.
