Recognizing the immediate need for PPE and supporting products Quake Scientific CEO Scott Macdonald and his partner President Jim Hall have pivoted their business focus to supply products directly to those on the front line with the greatest need. Their approach is a little different. “We learned that many of our first responders are forced to re-use potentially contaminated PPE due to shortages. Our families, friends and neighbors are placing themselves in harm’s way to protect us. We had to do something. We checked with several Police Departments, Fire Departments, the National Guard and Emergency Rooms and we discovered in many cases, they were unable to purchase products directly. Many asked if they could purchase products privately and we said no you cannot. But we will give you some.” Said Macdonald. According to Hall “We decided to donate products to support the front line people as much as we could, sell some to the same group in larger quantities just below cost, and the rest we would sell on the Quake Scientific website at a very reasonable price.”
