🎃Happy Howl-o-ween!👻
I've been told I'm sweet as honey (and
honestly, I agree.) 🐝 I hope all my friends have fun trick-or-treating for the good stuff-you know, treats like chicken & peanut butter. 🐔 🥜
Pitty Spirit Day Tricks For Treats. This is my favorite. 😋

My Twin Day photo for Pitty Spirit Week is my favorite pitbull, my brother's dog, Riley & and Jax, Twinning in their Superman bow ties. 🦸🏼♂️🦸🏻♂️Riley is a big reason I became a pitbull advocate. Sadly, last week, Riley crossed the rainbow bridge. 🌈 I thought it was only fitting that he appeared in a Pitty Sprit Week post. ❤️🩹

Catching up for Pitty Spirit Week. Always late to the party, but I'm look cute when I get there with my bandana on. 🐾

October is Pit Bull Awareness Month. This annual initiative is dedicated to educating the public and dispelling negative stereotypes about pit bull-type dogs. These dogs are affectionate, loyal, and make wonderful family pets.
I'm late getting started in Sprit Week but I didn't want to miss the opportunity to show my support for these amazing dogs.

URGENT—OUT OF SPACE: Yesterday we threw Baltimore’s biggest festival for animals, BARCStoberfest. Thousands came out to run, walk, shop, and celebrate what it means to give homeless pets a second chance. But this morning, as the tents came down and the park emptied, our internal alerts went off: we are completely out of dog space.
In the past 48 hours, 130 new animals have entered BARCS. A majority are large, adult dogs. Every one of them came through our doors with wide eyes and trembling bodies—hearing hundreds of barks, smelling fear and disinfectant, unsure what comes next.
And while they don’t know what’s ahead, we do.
It’s our job to show them that BARCS isn’t their last stop. Our team is once again playing “Tetris” this morning with kennels, offices, and every inch of space we can find. Staff and volunteers are hustling to move dogs into foster homes, coordinate adoptions, and keep everyone safe. But the reality is simple: we have no space left—and no time to wait.
BARCStoberfest was always more than a festival. It was a celebration of why we do this work. And today, that meaning becomes action.
Here’s how you can help right now:
🐾 Adopt: Waived adoption fees are extended through November 2. Every adoption includes spay/neuter, vaccines, and a microchip. Come to BARCS today—your new best friend is waiting. 2490 Giles Road, Baltimore, MD 21230
🐾 Foster: Even short-term fosters save lives. Large dogs, adult dogs, medical dogs—every open home means an open kennel for the next one coming in.
🐾 Donate: Food, medicine, and daily care add up fast. Your donations help us meet this surge and keep the lights on for every animal who walks through our doors.
BARCS may be Baltimore’s underdog, but we don’t give up—and we won’t start now. Please help us turn yesterday’s celebration into action today.
