The Robotrip Distortion, based on the vintage 80's Rat distortion. Built with the LM308N chip used in older rat pedals, which gives the pedal a smoother, more even distortion tone with more low end and mid frequencies, and less of the thin high end sound of newer rat pedals. Love this pedal on bass. Also great for guitar. Art by Adam Marx. Thanks Tony Ash and Conan Neutron!

The Particle Shower Phaser pedal, named after an earlier Multicult song. Basically it’s a MXR Phase 100 clone. A one-off pedal built custom upon request. Didn’t think it was going to be all that complicated, assuming a Phase 100 would be very similar to the MXR Phase 90 circuit, but you know what they say about assuming...and I assumed incorrectly. Not only did it require several vactrol components that were obsolete and harder to find, the physical size of the circuit was massive (as far as most pedals go). There were 50-60 in just resistors alone. Realizing I was going to have to etch and hand drill my own PCB, I was nervous that I wasn’t going to pull this off, at least without a bunch of frustrating mistakes, problems, and tantrums. Turns out I assumed incorrectly again...and to my surprise it worked perfectly on the first try! That was a good feeling. Thank you Justin Gonyea for the new challenge. Pedal artwork by Adam Marx.

Multicult had a great time this past week being on the road with our buddies SUPER THIEF. Played our last show together last night in Austin TX. Such a great band and an outstanding group of humans to boot. It was a pleasure to have them along with us on this trip. Tomorrow we join forces with another incredible band and fantastic group of people, TONGUE PARTY from Minneapolis MN. Super stoked to have them along for the reminder of our tour.
