The last ten years have been nothing but growth, learning, and new experiences as a family.

Now we’re off to see what Chicago has in store for us!

Innumerable hours studying, growing, grinding.

With the long term goal of improving community health and medical literacy 🖤

So excited to learn how to be a cardiac surgeon and start the next chapter of this journey.

This is where my story began.

Where dreams were born, character was shaped, and perspectives grown.

Today’s graduation is decades in the making, but I’m already looking to the next chapter.

I cannot wait to develop my skills as a cardiac surgeon so that I can return and pour into the city that made me.

I’m a big fan of getting the education for the life you want.

And as someone who wants to be a leader in medical education, I did just that.

I have three kids. And three degrees.

So for this shoot, I let them pose with me how they wanted.

My kids are not just a part of me, they are woven into this story.

The choices I made, the path that I walked, was completely influenced by them.

And this is how they feel about my journey 😂

This feels like my graduation.

It’s my introduction to the world of cardiothoracic surgery.

It’s my transition into the next stage of my career and education.

So excited to learn and network over the next few days!
