My love of creative cakes came from making their birthday cakes. Ever since they were old enough to have preferences, I have let them decide what kind of cake they want and let them plan it with me. As they get older, their ideas have become more complex, but I love the challenge and satisfaction of making their vision become reality. Anyone having a cupcake craving? I have 12 chocolate cupcakes left over from an order. They will be frosted with buttercream frosting and can be air brushed the color of your choice. $14

Special order time! I'm offering a new flavor of cupcake that's perfect for this cold weather: Apple cider spice cupcakes. I'll be baking them Friday (Nov 3). They are $14/dozen or 6 for $8. Orders need to be placed before Wednesday morning.
Recently, I've had some exciting new opportunities come my way. My dog and I were certified as a therapy dog team and I took a job as a part time baker for LaDelle and Fourth Coffeehouse during the school year. I'm excited to get started with both of these, but unfortunately that means I will not have time to take many cake orders anymore.
I've felt a calling for therapy dog work for years, but it wasn't until recently that my dog, Ember, calmed down enough to be a good fit for the program. The job at LaDelle and Fourth was totally unexpected and unplanned, but I think it's going to be a good fit for me.
I love everything about Creative Cakes and there's a good chance I will back to taking more orders some day, but for now I am going to focus most of my time and energy on my family, therapy dog visits, and my new job.
I will still be taking orders for traditionally frosted cupcakes and some basic cakes, so if you’re craving your favorite Creative Cakes flavor, please contact me.

My name is Randi Van Der Sloot. I am a mom, wife, daughter, sister, and teacher. I have been living with Stage IV metastatic breast cancer since December of 2020. Our family was no stranger to words like chemotherapy and radiation as this is not my first time with cancer. We did however add words like palliative care to our vocabulary. Our family’s word through our journey is Joy. We believe that through faith, the hard times are less difficult, and the good times are outstanding!
