As parents, we want nothing more than to help our children succeed. Sometimes the missing piece isn't effort—it's finding the right way to connect, understand, and support how a child learns.

When that happens, incredible growth can follow. We're honored to be part of those moments every day.

Sometimes all it takes is one person who believes in you. The right support can help students build confidence, discover their strengths, and realize they’re capable of more than they ever imagined.

Reading practice can happen in more places than you think. From menus and recipes to subtitles, magazines, and even social media, everyday moments can help children build confidence and strengthen reading skills in ways that feel natural and engaging.

Sometimes the best learning happens when kids don’t even realize they’re practicing. Small moments add up — and every bit of reading helps build growth, confidence, and success.

Sometimes the biggest victories sound small at first. One word read correctly. One spark of confidence. One moment when a child begins to believe, “I can do this.”

At LDA, those moments happen every day through patience, encouragement, and the power of individualized support. Your generosity helps create life-changing opportunities for students with learning differences and gives families hope for what’s possible.

Taking a pause to honor our heroes. 🕊️

St. Louis LDA is closed today, Monday, May 25th, in observance of Memorial Day. We hope our LDA family enjoys a day of reflection and rest. We will reopen for all testing, tutoring, and advocacy services tomorrow. We look forward to seeing you then!

When children struggle long enough, they can begin to believe they’re the problem. What may look like a “don’t care” attitude is often frustration, discouragement, or a lack of confidence. But when students are given the right support and begin to understand how they learn best, everything can start to change.

At LDA, we believe confidence can open doors — helping students find their voice, believe in themselves, and discover they are capable of so much more. Let’s help your child build the confidence to thrive.

Some days, parents just need a reminder that they’re doing better than they think. Navigating learning differences can feel overwhelming at times, but progress doesn’t happen overnight — and neither does growth, confidence, or success.

Keep showing up. Keep asking questions. Keep believing in your child and in yourself. The love, support, and advocacy you give every day matter more than you know.

What’s one piece of advice you’d give another parent on this journey?

Every day, we have the privilege of walking alongside families as they navigate challenges, celebrate growth, and build confidence for the future. Seeing students gain the tools they need to thrive is why we do what we do, and we’re grateful to be part of so many journeys throughout the St. Louis community.

If LDA has been part of your family’s story, we’d love for you to share this and help us continue reaching families who may be searching for support.

Hearing that your child has a learning difference can feel overwhelming at first — but it can also be the beginning of understanding, support, and hope. Your child is still the same incredible child they were before the diagnosis. With the right tools, guidance, and support, students with learning differences can grow in confidence and thrive in ways that once felt out of reach.
