Pinch me moment 🥹 wearing the ‘ULUPNA’ coat I created in collaboration with Yettica () for the finale of the Reclamation runway by .nations.fashion.design

Created in memory of Yorta Yorta Winyarr Gloria Lexi Matthews (Nee Charles Ferguson) - Big Nan, Yettica. This collaboration between Yorta Yorta Winyarr Anastasia Keshan and Ashley Maher was created to honour the legacy of Anastasia’s Great Grandmother and her connection to Ulupna. Ulupna translates to “Strong Woman” in the Yorta Yorta language. It tells a scared story of the creation of Country. The Barmah-Millewa Wetlands that surround Ulupna Island contain the biggest River Red Gum forest in the Country and an ecosystem that is still thriving over 65,000 years after the Dunggudja nanit (Bangarang name for great earthquake) that created an inland delta, in turn creating the forest and wetlands. Featuring sacred Totems of the Yorta Yorta peoples that still inhabit the Dungala and its surrounds today, it is the perfect homage to a Blak Matriarch and the Country that raised her

A micro sized patchwork in the full rainbow spectrum, pixie hood, LED trims, mushies, hamsas hand, and moon-phase, 13 tones of fur, magnetic closures, pom poms, rhinestones, stars, custom printed velvet lining, removable straps and ears & IT TURNS INTO A BAG.

This is by far my most elaborate creation yet, and seeing their messages yesterday when they received it made me happy dance all morning around my apartment.

One of my fave customs ever ever EVER. I received these pics and videos from my amazing customer while I was at a wedding overseas and I actually cried happy tears watching this reveal video in a quiet corner.

The reaction to seeing my custom garment bag that my coats come in before even seeing what is inside is absolutely priceless to me, and what I strive for every single time.
