Wing Chun Wooden Dummy Training

a demonstration of the second Wing Chun Kung-Fu wooden dummy form set and several possible wooden dummy applications as taught at the ResilienceMT Wing Chun school in South Melbourne. The wooden dummy technique applications in this video are modern day practical interpretations of the wooden dummy form. While remaining true to Wing Chun principles and technique concepts, they are informed by an extensive experience of western boxing, competing in full contact Muay Thai, and over a decade of working security in bars and nightclubs.

Wing Chun Goat Stance
The goat stance (yang jong) is a fundamental posture in Wing Chun. It is characterized by a low and stable stance, with the feet pointing forward and the bodyweight evenly distributed. This stance is used for both attack and defense, and it is especially effective against kicks.

Wing Chun is a Chinese martial art that originated in China about 300 years ago. It mainly concerns self-defense techniques that can be used in close combats. A Wing Chun fighter masters striking methods and other defensive controlling techniques.

Tonight’s class is with Mayur and will be focussing on close range strikes and sparring drills.

WING CHUN CIRCUIT TRAINING

Dummy will move to a new section or a new drill

Punches will be turning punches or Tan/Punch etc.

Siu Lim Tau will change to Chum Kiu

Leg work will change from Mid section kicks to double kicks or Biu Mar stepping

Grandmaster Ip Man

Late 19th century, in the city of Fu San, Canton Province, Southern China, the famous Wing Chun instructor Master Chan Wah Shun taught only an exclusive group of students. Seven-year-old Ip Man had a burning desire to learn. When approached, Master Chan Wah Shun was impressed with young Ip Man's passion and became his last pupil.
