"While (at the splash pad), a mother with younger children came over specifically to compliment our Mosaic students. She mentioned that another school had visited the splash pad the day before and that the older students there had been unkind to the little kids by pushing, taking over space, and not sharing.

She said she noticed the complete opposite with our group. Even though our students were excited and energetic, they were mindful of the smaller children, shared the space respectfully, and even helped and played with some of the younger kids there.

As someone who sometimes worries about the impulsivity and energy levels that can come with our 5th- and 6th-graders, I was genuinely proud of the way our students represented our school and community today. They truly surprised me in the best way.

They earned a whole class ode to the code, and I thought this was worth sharing because they deserve recognition for the kindness and maturity they showed in a public setting." :) Ms. Luna
