I had this great caption written and IG choose to not include it. Ugh.
So... if you're looking to start patio training, go somewhere less crazy. We chose an empty park. I got lunch and then we hung out.
This is the foundation.
Haley and Riley are figuring out this in public stuff super well!
If you want a patio dog, our Day Train program is for you!

'She won't let me put a collar on her'
Lady Bug was adopted a few months ago and her new mom and I are pretty sure she's never worn a collar her whole life!
So... I walked in and evaluated. She's sweet, fairly social, but sensitive to movement and she knows that food is used as a way to bribe and manhandle her.
This is the part where I did the thing most trainers would balk at.
I took her toy and slowly but surely built a little bit of competition. You want the toy? Let's play next to that collar. And she did.
Then we started on the handling part, but I made it her idea. I instigated personal play, like a dog.
Soon she was running up to me, tagging me and waiting for me to do it back.
I spent amost a full hour on the floor, building a relationship. I had already told her mom we weren't putting the collar on today, I could've but it would've been incredibly offensive and we've got time.

This may be the most perfect example of what our boarding dogs experience.
Space, freedom, play, and happiness.
This is also why I only allow dogs who have done training to board here unless they're doing a board and train.
They get a lot less management, lots of outside play, and tons of exposure to stuff(goats, horses, other dogs, etc), it's like going on vacation.
I'm all about breaking stereotypes.

If you ever see me and a dog or two outside any kind of dog friendly establishments it's because we're preparing that dog to go inside. We don't always get there that day, but the goal is to get there eventually. Haley and Riley's owners goal was just to be able to have them in public so that's what we're working on.
Also! If you have a business you'd be ok with us practicing in front of or inside-dm me! We're always looking for places to practice!

I can't believe I have to put this out there but here it is for the official record.
I don't use AI. I don't generate captions or pictures using whatever the thing is that does that...
I'm a creative person by nature so taking pictures, making graphics, and writing is all stuff I love doing.
And tbh, I hate the way AI looks and sounds.
Authenticity is a big part of the brand so if you ever see it on the page I've probably been body snatched.
Happy Tuesday!

Oso is in advanced obedience land which means big distractions. Look at how good he is!
Go play with your dog.
Thoughts on the new HUD memorandum and how it's going to lead to a service dog registry plus a cat trying to steal my string cheese.
And I don't hate Pomeranians!
