Valerie Fridland, sociolinguist, professor, “Great Courses” instructor and author of “Like, Literally, Dude: Arguing for the Good in Bad English” joins Clay Jenkinson tomorrow, 3/26 for our Conversations in Controversial Issues series program “The Power of Language.” In this lively conversation, they’ll discuss the power in naming (for example, “The Gulf of America”), satire, profanity, pronouns, and more!

On Thursday, 3/27 at noon, Clay is joined by Lindsay Chervinsky, Executive Director of the George Washington Presidential Library, for a live Listening to America podcast recording, featuring their “10 Key Moments of the American Revolution.” In the evening, Clay and Lindsay answer the question “Who Was the Indispensable Founding Man (or Woman)?” For tickets and more info, go to www.vailsymposium.org.
