we have a word in german that doesn’t have an english translation called •• heimat •• according to wiki ‘the word describes a state of belonging “the opposite of feeling alien,” and its definition is not limited to a geographical place.’

was fast, bright and beautiful!
and german haus felt like a small kind of home inside of it all 🛖🐚

being invited into that space meant a lot to me ••
as someone shaped so deeply by berlin, by german culture, by the particular feeling of growing up there and becoming who i am there,
it felt so very warm to carry that part of myself all the way to austin and meet it again on a stage in the middle of texas 🤠 thank you for having me for both a dj set, spinning all my current favorite tunes, as well as for my live show, with my mic and keyboard and soooo many new songs i got to play for the first time. also thank you .austin for having me for another dj set and wonderful night with you guys as well.

this is how i feel about the entirety with being out now 🧚🏼‍♀️💕✨

when maxim and i first met on zoom a few weeks ago, we immediately fell into a deep artist-to-artist heart-to-heart. we talked a lot about making art we can truly stand behind •• beyond trend cycles or outside noise. about trusting the slow, intentional path of creating work that actually feels like us, and letting that be enough and meaningful.

this song began with maxim’s instrumental idea, and the words i wrote to it arrived effortlessly. “the entirety” is about an unapologetic self-acceptance - of yourself, your art, your way of being - that doesn’t ask for validation. a quiet confidence that invites others to meet you as you are, not as they’d prefer you to be.

during our call, we realized that the conversation we had before even getting into the meeting was exactly what we wrote our song about months ago.

so proud and happy to say it’s finally yours 💌

hello hello,

this new year was such a slow one. and i enjoyed it so much. wanted to wish you a happy and meaningful new year from me2u if you are reading this 😽

i started learning the harp 🪶
first time doing something for the first time in a long time.
trying every day.
just scales in c major.

learning an instrument feels like learning how to listen again.
being a beginner again.
letting hands be clumsy.
not rushing the sound.
it’s so humbling and in a way very meditative and grounding 🤍

there are so many songs ready now (slide 9 gives you a taste).
finished, but still waiting.
and i’m sitting with the question of how to bring them to you,
how to tell the story they belong to 📖

studio days after a show feel like coming home to myself 🌀🧝🏼‍♀️💖🌱
london last saturday was loud, tender, real
now it’s quiet - cables on the floor, tea going cold

i’m listening for what wants to take shape next

been a bit quiet on here as most days have been mainly head down in the studio/at the piano. been thinking a lot about how different seasons bring about different creative phases/cycles in all of us and really loving to embrace the winter season for its quiet and introspection 🌬️🤍✨
lots of trying to find the right words to capture best what’s going on inside of me, finding old song starts or little jotted down notes and seeing what still resonates, and generally exploring how to make something intangible a little more tangible through sound.
collaborating with friends has been another fun way to do that & you’ll be hearing some of that early on next year : )
and in keeping with the spotify wrapped and end of year spirit, while i’m not big on numbers and what they bring about sometimes, i did want to say thank you for listening and being here on this journey with me. it means more than i could ever say - i put my everything into these little songs so the fact that they get to live in your world is the biggest gift to me. and i’m so grateful for it.

is always such a highlight on my tours through asia and i’m so happy my last show there just happened to be recorded and i now get to share it on youtube with you and relive it over & over again that way. i remember leaving the show being completely overwhelmed by the pure and warm energy in that room and so elated when i then found out there’s all this footage. i edited it myself over the last weeks and also pulled out the animation art .abcs and i made ages ago (but which we’re actually now revisiting for another exciting project 👘👀🪡) and added it in to make it YT compatible.

amsterdam you were stormy and chaotic (so this post will be too) and beautiful all together!
i get a bit overwhelmed at these huge events sometimes but went into this ade with the intention of having meaningful catch ups with those i cherish but see rarely. take it all sloooow. and i ended up having some of my fave conversations there yet. grounding and warm mind exchanges, especially with other artists i seldom see, but not only.
left feeling more in love and supported and seen by this music world and so inspired to keep giving everything to it! : )
the show on saturday at was so special to me. i sang so many new songs and went the more experimental route as opposed to the safe one with a lot of tracks, because i felt empowered by the crowd to do so and test all this new music i’ve been cooking. thank you amsterdam for having me 💕🙂‍↔️
