2:20 AM - South Fork of the San Gabriel River at Georgetown has now reached moderate flood stage.
Updated forecast calls for a crest early Saturday morning at 14.5 feet.
River flood warning for the San Gabriel remains in effect.
8” to 9”+ of rain fell in parts of the Leander area.

A River Flood Warning has been issued for the San Gabriel River. Currently in minor flood stage and expected to crest in minor flooding stage at around 11.8 ft based on current data early Saturday AM.

11:08 PM - Torrential rain continues to fall around the Leander area and SW Wilco. Radar estimates are nearing 8” in spots. Ongoing flooding is likely worsening with this new round of heavy rain.
Elevated flows will be possible tonight on the north and south forks of the San Gabriel River, Big Sandy Creek, and potentially Brushy Creek.
Also be mindful to avoid low water crossings that are covered. At the moment 34 are closed according to ATX Floods.

10:27 PM - More heavy rain now moving over the Leander area where 4”-6”+ has already fallen. This will worsen ongoing flooding. Turn around don’t drown. Full update coming up after the postgame on KVUE.

9:09 PM - Flooding ongoing over NW Travis and W Williamson counties. 4”-6”+ of rain just west of Leander.
A number of low water crossing are closed. Turn around don’t drown.
Need to keep an eye on water levels on the north and south forks of the San Gabriel River, Big Sandy Creek, and Brushy Creek.

6:23 PM - The flooding concern continues to ramp up through this evening for the Austin-area and Central Texas. Torrential downpours will train over certain areas, and will produce pockets of 1”-3” of rain with isolated totals 6”+ possible.
Not everyone will see bad flooding, but confidence is increasing with that pockets of flooding will develop, potentially significant in spots.
Have a way to get flood alerts, especially in prone areas. Also, don’t drive through flooded roads. Then around don’t drown.

5:43 PM - Our first Flash Flood Warning of the night has been issued for western Williamson County into eastern Burnet until 10 PM.
We really need to watch this area. 2 to 4 inches of rain have already fallen and more heavy rain is developing.
Have a way to get flood alerts this evening. Monitor alerts closely if in a flood prone area, and never drive through flooded roads.
Flood Watch for parts of the Austin-area through 1 AM Saturday. Not everywhere in the watch zone will have bad flooding, but isolated pockets of 6”+ of rain can’t be ruled out.
