Texas Education Freedom Accounts FAQ:
Your Top 5 Questions Answered

If your child has an Individualized Education Program (IEP), they may qualify for up to $30,000 per year through Texas Education Freedom Accounts. But here’s the critical detail: The IEP must be on file with the Texas Education Agency BEFORE the application window closes on March 17. If your child currently has an IEP through their public school district, call the district this week and confirm it has been submitted to TEA. This one step could be the difference between $10,474 and $30,000 for your child’s education. At Ascend Rising Academy, we’re accredited K–12 and ready to welcome TEFA families. Let us help you understand your options.

The Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA) application is OPEN right now and it closes March 17, 2026. Here’s what you need to know: Your child may qualify for $10,474/year toward tuition at an accredited private school like Ascend Rising Academy. Children with an IEP could receive up to $30,000/year.
