One of the weirdest truths in weightlifting:
“Your sn**ch is your bench.”
On paper it makes absolutely no sense. One is an explosive overhead lift requiring speed, timing, mobility, and precision. The other is a horizontal press built on brute upper-body strength.
Yet somehow, for a lot of weightlifters, the numbers end up almost identical.
No idea why. No clue how.
But the longer you’re around the sport, the more often you see it.
It shouldn’t work… but it checks out way more often than you’d expect.

I use to run a meme account. Pt 2.
It’s been a very long time since I had a good week of Training, things are moving forward again finally. I can feel some PRs coming.
Weightlifting is the sport of “it depends”.
The belt squat is one of the most underrated tools for building strong legs.
✔️ Minimal spinal loading
✔️ Easier to stay balanced over midfoot
✔️ High quad and glute stimulus
✔️ Less systemic fatigue
✔️ Great option for managing achy knees while keeping squat volume high
It’s not a replacement for barbell squats, but it’s an incredible way to keep progressing when your back, hips, or knees need a break.
Train the legs. Save the wear and tear for when it matt
